Tom Johnstone
CEO, SKF
The SKF Group is one of the leading global suppliers of products, solutions and services in the area comprising rolling bearings, seals, mechatronics, services and lubrication systems. The company has recently extended its products and services offering to clean and energy efficient technologies. Tom Johnstone is 47, was born in Scotland and is a graduate of Glasgow University. He joined SKF as a salesman in SKF (U.K.) in 1977. He has thereafter held a number of managerial positions in sales and marketing within the Group.

Lena Ek
Member of European Parliament
Lena Ek is a Swedish politician and Member of the European Parliament. She is a member of the Centre Party.  She is on the EU  Committee on Industry, Research and Energy . She is also a substitute for the   Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety. She is a long time advocate for the cleantech industry. She will give us insights into upcoming EU policy affecting the cleantech market.

A long time proponent of greener policy and in particular a tax shift aimed at internalizing environmental costs into products and services, the green party has been a part of forming a number of the green incentives and policies that have shaped the Swedish cleantech industry. Maria will outline the policy route that she believes would lead to more environmentally beneficial society and a stronger cleantech industry.

Born 1949. President and CEO of NCC since February 12, 2007. Formerly Deputy Chief Executive Officer and President of NCC Construction Sweden since 2001. Employed by NCC since 1973. Previous experience: Regional Manager at NCC Building Stockholm, construction Staff Manager within civil engineering operations, Business & Technological Development Manager within construction operations and Department Manager within rebuilding operations, among other positions.

Think Global is a Norwegian cleantech company developing electric vehicles. Think has raised almost 60 million Euros from private investors in 2007, the highest amount raised by a Nordic cleantech venture company by far. Jan-Olaf Willums’ carreer highlights to date include: Head of Volvo Petroleum (-1980), Executive Director of the World Industry Council for the Environment (WICE) (1992-1994), Director of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) (1994-1998), Senior Vice President of Storebrand (1998-2000), and President of InSpire (2000-).

Bite communication is a public relation and communication agency with headquarters in the US and a
Scandinavian office in Stockholm. It works with international industrial clients to position and

In his work first at UC Berkeley, then as Chief Scientist at the Natural Step, and now as the founder of Thrive Unlimited and in partnership with sector leaders such as Bite Communications, George Basile leads the creation and implementation of high-value sustainability strategies, product evolution, tools and actions at Fortune 100 and start-up companies, leading non-profit organizations and with community leaders.

Michelle Kaufmann
Founder and Chairman, Michelle Kaufmann Designs
Realizing that the U.S. housing industry was failing to make thoughtful, sustainable design accessible to most people, Michelle founded her design/build architecture firm, Michelle Kaufmann Designs, in 2002 to do just that. Using prefabricated designs and a modular building process, Michelle is now making green homes more affordable in the U.S.

Randall Bowie
Chief Consultant, Rockwool International
Randall Bowie worked for many years for the Swedish ministries of finance, industry, and energy, and the Swedish Energy Agency before joining DG Energy & Transport of the European Commission in 1996. He was one of the driving forces at the Commission behind the Buildings Directive, the Energy End-use Efficiency and Energy Services Directive, and the Energy Efficiency Action Plans. In 2007 he left the Commission for a chief consultancy position at Rockwool International A/S. During his 11 year career at DG Energy and Transport of the European Commission, he became one of the driving forces on energy efficiency (EE) promotion and one of the architects of the Energy End-use Efficiency and Energy Services Directive and of the Energy Efficiency Action Plan."

Martin Hagbyhn

Already in 1996, the Purac division of Läckeby Water built a sewage treatment plant in Qingdao Licunhe. The project was completed in 1999, and the customer was very satisfied with Purac’s technology and service. Purac has now won another contract for construction of Loushanhe sewage treatment plant in one of the host cities for the Olympic Games. Purac will supply process equipment, project management for the assembly and process start up.

Anneli Hulthén
Deputy Mayor, City of Göteborg

Anneli Hulthén has been involved in Göteborg's and Sweden's political stage for over more than 20 years, including as a member of the Swedish and European Parliaments. Her current positions and responsabilities in Göteborg include Chair of the Traffic & Public Transport Committee, Chair of the Housing and Planning Committee, Member of the Göteborg City Executive Board and City Council. The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) is an international finance institution established in 1990 by the five Nordic countries. To date, NEFCO has financed a wide range of environmental projects in Central and Eastern European countries, including Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, focused on achieving cost-effective environmental benefits across the region. Kari Homanen has a long career in international consulting and finance. He has previously worked e.g at the World Bank as Investment Manager and at the Finnish Environment Institute as Director for International Consulting.

CNA is a consulting architect firm with more than 25 years experience within the fields of; solar- and energy conscious design, and the integration of innovative technologies in buildings. She is employed at KanEnergi, a consulting company specialised on services related to energy, the environment and sustainable development.
